PAKT FOUNDATION TEAMS UP WITH NATIONAL PET TOY COMPANY
TO CREATE
AWARENESS COLLARS AND LEASHES FOR DOGS
First it was the Viet
Nam era copper bracelets to support our troops. Then it was Lance Armstrong
renewing the craze with his yellow LIVESTRONG bracelet. Up until now, no one
has utilized their pooch's neck to raise awareness for animal related causes.
That is, until now.
PAKT Foundation (People, Animals and Kids Together) and Loopies Toys have joined forces to create awareness collars and leashes for dogs. Available in three colors and various size ranges, these collars and leashes were inspired by the design team at Loopies; a San Diego based dog and cat toy company. They created a specific line for fundraising called In the Loop, which allows animal shelters, sanctuaries and rescue groups to purchase the collars and leashes wholesale, and sell them in their stores or events and use as fundraisers.
These collars and leashes are not only durable and functional; they are trendy and offered in vibrant colors. Cindy DeAngelis-Duffy, president of Loopies and creator of the" In the Loop", brand, wanted to offer a valuable tool to help animal shelters and rescues raise money. "It is with great pleasure and excitement that we are able to launch our "In the Loop" fundraising program. This program is our way of contributing funds in order to increase awareness and education in regard to pets in need everywhere," says Cindy. Five percent of the wholesale price goes back into the PAKT Foundation to continue its efforts to raise awareness for unwanted animals.
PAKT Foundation assists animal sanctuaries, rescues and shelters across the
United States to become more self reliant. A list of accredited sanctuaries,
rescue groups and shelters can be found on PAKT"s website. Started in
2005 by entrepreneur Fran Lantz, PAKT's mission is: "To motivate, empower
and support individuals dedicated to the welfare of animals while creating
a path of learning and inspiration for our children".

People Animals and Kids Together -PAKT- Formed to Assist Animal Sanctuaries Worldwide
GRASS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2005--
New Non-profit To Provide Marketing Expertise and Fundraising Events For Participating Sanctuaries
People Animals and Kids Together (PAKT), a newly formed non-profit organization focused on helping animal sanctuaries and rescue centers, has launched a number of innovative collaborations among sanctuaries nationwide. PAKT's headquarters are in Grass Valley, California.
PAKT has filed for 501C3 status and already numbers 21 sanctuaries as participating members. Initial plans include the creation of a National Animal Sanctuary Day, celebrity endorsement and promotional activities, educational and outreach programs focusing on children and sanctuaries, cooperative marketing programs and more. PAKT is presently run entirely by volunteers.
"It all started with a horse I rescued named Serendipity," said founder Fran Lantz, social entrepreneur and partner of "We Thought of That," an inventions company. "When I saw how poorly funded and how overworked most rescue/sanctuary operations were, I quickly realized what a difference my friends and I could make with our collective marketing and operations expertise."
PAKT's goal is to help sanctuaries and rescue organizations become more self-reliant by reducing operating costs and increasing funding through more efficient, leveraged marketing and purchasing efforts. In addition to these direct efforts, PAKT's vision is to inspire a more compassionate society by raising awareness of how animals that have been deemed "throwaways" by our society are treated. All of PAKT's programs are designed to encourage adult/child involvement at very simple levels.
PAKT board members include Lori Humphrey, a marketing and sales professional for ProForma Industries and Pamela Crowley, principal, Crowley Communications. PAKT has also enlisted the Pro Bono services of the nationally known law firm Cozen O'Connor.
For more
